The suit, filed Monday in federal court in Allentown by attorney Joshua Karoly, alleges Ramos’ experience is the result of a failure by state police to recognize and prevent racial profiling and false prosecution for driving-under-the-influence offenses.
“Something went terribly wrong here and my client suffered greatly,” Karoly said.
A state police spokesman did not return a call Tuesday.
Karoly said that in addition to the failure of state police and prosecutors to produce any chemical evidence of his client’s alleged intoxication, they also did not provide dashboard camera video that would show whether Ramos exhibited signs of impairment during the traffic stop.
